As of today they have over <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/warriors\">9.1M likes on Facebook<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/warriors\">2.39M followers on Twitter<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/tunein.com\/radio\/Warriors-Sound-s267185\/\">3.2K followers on TuneIn<\/a>. This creates a wonderful\u00a0opportunity to use\u00a0their <strong><em>Warriors Sound<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0online radio station and podcasts to engage with their fans who\u00a0would like to hear more about the team and what they are doing.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>In April 2016, the Warriors teamed with\u00a0Backbone to help\u00a0explore new realms of\u00a0driving additional fan engagement. During the 2016 spring\u00a0playoffs they began to run informational\u00a0programming on their Backbone Radio station, taking\u00a0interviews with personalities around the country using the Backbone Talk phone system. This created a substantial\u00a0library of audio upon which to base a 24\/7 branded sports station.<\/p>\n<p>The <em>Warriors Sound<\/em>\u00a0audio library is\u00a0used to broadcast and rebroadcast live on their station. Many of these library components have been\u00a0edited into podcasts that were\u00a0shared, tweeted and liked. Since the station&#8217;s\u00a0inception,\u00a0The Golden State Warriors\u00a0have continued to grow\u00a0their social media presence. During the playoffs, for instance, there was an uptick in listenership to their podcasts, as many of the playoff-related podcasts drew\u00a0more the three times the downloads as those produced in April.<\/p>\n<p>Helping to drive the uptick, <em><strong>TuneIn<\/strong><\/em> featured <em>Warriors Sound<\/em>\u00a0several times during the playoffs. This mutually beneficial promotion resulted in increases in the number of\u00a0<em>Warriors Sound<\/em>\u00a0radio listeners, podcast downloads and\u00a0followers of the station on TuneIn.<\/p>\n<p>As part of this experiment the team put together a video on some of the things they did to drive engagement.<\/p>\n<div class=\"su-youtube su-u-responsive-media-yes\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Tt4gZ6NuMLI?autohide=2&amp;autoplay=0&amp;mute=0&amp;controls=1&amp;fs=1&amp;loop=0&amp;modestbranding=1&amp;rel=0&amp;showinfo=1&amp;theme=dark&amp;wmode=&amp;playsinline=0\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen allow=\"autoplay; encrypted-media; picture-in-picture\" title=\"\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>As the upcoming NBA season nears,\u00a0we believe these efforts are just beginning to\u00a0enable the Warriors to align\u00a0more closely with their fans. The Warriors and the NBA have a powerful worldwide\u00a0following, and delivering Warriors Sound\u00a0content through a diverse set of\u00a0avenues\u00a0is a great way to keep those fans engaged.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As you would expect, the Golden State Warriors have a huge\u00a0following on social media.
